An Important CNC Business Tip You Need To Know
You got a CNC router to make woodworking projects to sell. Starting a CNC business is exciting and scary, and many people struggle because they focus solely on making money. An abundance mindset is crucial for success.
This mindset helps us recognize that there's always more to learn, and it's the first step toward building a successful business. If we chase money, we'll never catch it. Instead, focus on growth, learning, and value. Stress about money indicates a need for a mindset shift.
This is where mentors come in. They’ve been there and can guide us to where our mindset needs to change. Embrace an abundance mindset and set a solid foundation for your CNC business.

Yes Garrett! I would be totaly interested in a business mentoring program also.
I would be interested for sure
Definitely interested in mentoring program. I agree you have to invest in your skills, including the business ones. (Clay from Cincinnati)
Hi your videos are great! Im super new to this. Do you offer any courses or one one tutoring for beginners. Thanks Tom
Thanks for the video Garrett and yes a mentoring class would be awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Got 3!!
Clay from Cincinnati… got two sets today. Liberty is awesome!
Where can I get that eagle head pattern? I've looked everywhere.
How does the vacuum system handle dust?
JeffC-ct5jj, typically, CNC hold down vacuum system manages dust by integrating with dust collection systems that capture debris before it reaches the vacuum pump. Perforated spoilboards and zoned vacuum systems help trap dust on the surface, making it easier to remove.
Great video Garret. I really enjoy the way you explain things. Vetric software is amazing but can be challenging to learn. You do a nice job walking through the process to make it relatable. Keep them coming please. Thanks, Lyle
lylehandeland8020, Thank you for your kind words, Lyle! I'm glad you find the explanations helpful. Stay tuned for more videos!
Thanks for the tip on sanding brushes.. got some on the way. Also thanks for the 15% discount
dougharshbarger1700, You're welcome! I'm glad I could help you out. Enjoy your new sanding brushes!
I am new to cnc and really appreciate the info you provide. I don’t use Vectric software though, rather I use carbide create and carbide motion, but so far, things you have taught are easily transferrable. I am particularly interested in doing deep inlays, therefore, any direction you can point me in that will help with that would be fantastic. Thanks and keep on teaching!
JeffC-ct5jj, I'm glad you find the information helpful! Deep inlays can create some stunning effects. A good place to start would be to experiment with different bit sizes and depths to achieve the desired effect. I have a video that is for Vectric users but it should be able to help you quite a lot in Carbide Create too brother! Here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/Naxq3SbQH50/v-deo.htmlsi=0rClZxe2ZdMVGRPS
Thanks for the answer... Can you edit your videos a little more please? 21min to explain something that might be explained in 5 - 10 Min!
jimmytherazor, Thank you for the feedback! I'll work on making my videos more concise and to the point in the future.
Had to miss the live, but, a great video. Thank you.
ozguzzi, Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!

How do you seal of all the other vacuum holes?
Great question! The unit comes with rubber plugs that seal the holes.
I wish this was around before I ordered my shapeoko 5 pro.
ReallyBadJuJu, Don't worry, the Shapeoko 5 Pro is still a great machine brother!
@@IDCWoodcraft Sister. :-) And yeah it is! But it was $2k more and doesn't have closed-loop motors, I had to build my own table, and the Carbide 3d ecosystem is a bit more "closed" these days. It's not an XCarve in that respect, but it's a bit more proprietary and unfriendly to mods than it's legacy reputation would have suggested. On the whole, I'm not unhappy with my purchase, but had the Altmill been around when I ordered my S5Pro, I'd have chosen the Altmill.
Brand new to CNC, making my first spoilboard with MDF, and just tried to drill a hole with a down bit. Thank goodness I decided to make a trial hole to - test the depth - before I let it loose on the whole spoilboard! It didn't make a flame, but it came very close - the hole was full of burnt chips. I found your video on drilling holes, learned what I did wrong, and ordered your drilling bits. My spoilboard will have to wait a few days, but I guess it's good that I learned it now! (By the way, any tips for cleaning the baked on burn residue off my down bit?) Thanks for your most informative videos!
StubbsMom, I'm glad the video helped you avoid any mishaps! To clean the burn residue off your down bit, you can try soaking it in a mixture of warm water and vinegar for a few hours, then scrubbing it gently with a brass brush. This should help remove the baked-on residue without damaging the bit.
Why can't us non-live viewers not see the Live Chat?
donaldbrunswick, Unfortunately, the Live Chat is only available to viewers watching the live stream in real-time. It's a feature designed to enhance the experience for live viewers and promote real-time interaction between the audience and the creator. Sorry I cant help on this one my friend.
Hi, just watched the vid, I would love this system but have two problems or maybe 3, my spoilboard is 48 x 24 inches but once it has been surfaced I lose about 4 inches, the cost of postage / freight to Australia is roughly Au $450 and if the vacuum pump can be supplied with a Au plug (240 v).😢 Other than that I like very much.
BungalowBill58, That's great to hear that you're interested in the system! You might want to consider customizing your spoilboard size to fit your needs. As for shipping to Australia, it's always a good idea to check with the supplier for the most up-to-date rates. It's usually possible to get the vacuum pump with the appropriate plug for your region. Hope this helps!
I knew about construction lines, but you explain better for me to understand them
SteveSpears-xg6ze, I'm glad I could help you understand construction lines better! They're really useful for planning out your woodworking projects before getting started. Keep practicing with them and you'll see how much they can improve your accuracy!
Great live
3sonssigns, Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
OK… Not only did I like and subscribe but I have made you my new mentor lol thank you for such an amazing video! 😊
AllenHorn0507, Thank you so much for the support and kind words! I'm glad you found the video helpful..
What a great "teacher". This dummy has learned much with much more to come.
georgeumberger4254, Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you find the videos helpful. Keep practicing and you'll improve even more!
Thank you
titotorres5456, You're welcome! Happy woodworking!
Once you get all 3 closed can you group the 4 objects to cut them together or individual tool paths?
SteveSpears-xg6ze, Yes, once you've closed all 3 vectors, you can group the 4 objects together to cut them simultaneously, saving time and ensuring they align perfectly on the material. This will allow your CNC machine to follow one toolpath for all objects in one go.
Matthew for your next one! Please ❤
matthewswart1071, Thanks for the suggestion brother!
I never use that cutter, they always seem to give youa crappy "smashing" cut
MrStebe120, good point my friend. I can definitely see your perspective on this one.
Hi Garret, New to world CNC. We use CNCjs for the controller software and smoothie. There is a Touch Probe but I am not sure if is programmed for x and y and I am scared to use it in case i crash the bit into workpiece or worse. There is a macro for Probe. Do you know how to set up a macro for the probe that comes with the machine? CNC has been idle for 2 years and now I have been tasked with getting it working so students can use it. Have a small part ready to machine. Thanks for your help.
thetechnician832, Hey there! It's great that you're diving into the world of CNC woodworking. Setting up a macro for the touch probe should involve creating specific G-code commands to instruct the machine on how to use the probe for locating the workpiece accurately. I'd recommend referring to the machine's user manual or reaching out to the manufacturer for guidance on how to set up the probe macro safely. Good luck with getting the CNC up and running for the students!
What vinyl is that one?
armandocrespo2290, its called oramask brother! Here is a link: shrsl.com/36t5i
